The Auxiliary is a volunteer non-profit organization of the Jewish General Hospital, committed to fundraising and to initiating programs, special endeavours and to enhance the quality of care and effectiveness of hospital services.
Pride in Our Past
In November 1916, The Hebrew Maternity Hospital, a forerunner of the Jewish General Hospital, opened in a house in the neighbourhood east of Mount Royal. In 1936, just two years after the opening of the Jewish General Hospital, more than 300 women formed the Women’s Auxiliary aiming at providing financial aid to the hospital as well as being a goodwill instrument and liaison between hospital and community.

The JGH healthcare team strives to provide care and resources to patients dealing with this situation through improved educational materials, training and comfort care packages.
